永康街唐樓 walk-ups on wing hong street

2017.4.7 | 永康街與福華街 wing hong street crosses fuk wa street 說永康街,愛旅遊的香港人可能首先想起台灣的同名街道。香港這條街位於長沙灣。 說福華街,大家比較熟悉深水埗那段,原來這條街一直伸展到長沙灣來。 沒有找到有關這幾棟樓的資料,於是決定這篇一破本部落的平日格式,展示幾張而非限於一張照片。主要因為覺得這幾棟樓雖然年邁,特別看樓上有些鐵框玻璃很老舊,但總的感覺是健壯。尤其向永康街一邊,最愛那些後樓梯構成的幾何畫面;還有,樓下車房,非常唐樓的風光,但這種非常有味道的風光已經買少見少。 this is one old stretch in cheung sha wan. it was the first time i came around this side on kowloon peninsula. the view is typical tang lau old hood. low-rise old buildings with street level space occupied by garage and car […]

石板街 “the stone staircase street” / pottinger street

2015.11.29 | pottinger street 砵典乍街 很多時都忘了這條街的真正名字。砵典乍其實是香港殖民地年代第一位港督。 每一次走上這段路,腳底感受到石階磨蝕的扁和滑,就由根領略到歷史的質感。 翻查資料,這段路自1850年代已經存在。 星期天中午,陽光帶著冬季的金光。拍照只是隨意。回來端視,檢拾多樣:年青愛侶專心遵從攝影師拍攝婚紗照,讓這畫面充滿美意;鐵皮檔與石階是這歷史街道本來的主角;路的對面是正在翻修的中環歷史地標建築群;路人、車輛為街道住滿活力;還有靜靜守護著的地主神位。 this street existed since 1850s. locals call it “the stone staircase street”. i doubt every hongkongers remember the actual name – pottinger street. it was named after the first governor of this former british colony. it is one of the top sights tourists like to visit.
