中環商舖招牌 signage of businesses in central

this is a busy street, one level up the main road, full of traffic and passersby. so are the signage at the entrance of a walk-up commercial building. no up-stair cafes or boutique, nor any message parlour. we are talking about central, or some might say, old […]

西營盤與長沙灣的鐵連 the iron link between sai ying pun and sham shui po

i am living in the west district. i walk around my neighbourhood a lot feeling the urge to live and breathe whatever existing. one late morning in a weekend in early december, i took a stroll around […]

洪聖廟石器 a historic stoneware, hung shing temple

it is hard to imagine this temple was at the sea front back in the early days. another impressive fact is that the temple was built on a big rocky slope. one can still trace the tough terrain looking at the back of this grade […]

新填地街招牌文字風光 signage and chinese character scenery at yau ma tei

drainage and aqueduct services is a real profession, but it at the same time represents a grass root industry as well as street-art novelty – in old districts’ back lanes or street corner, one is bound to see the two chinese characters “tong […]
