摩星嶺跌打檔 a bone-setter stall at mount davis

2016.11.4 | 公民村李標父女跌打  lee father & daughter bone-setter, kung man village, mount davis

kung man village used to be a big squatter area on this west side of hong kong island. now, this bonesetter stall is the only living landmark of the village.

this photo was taken on a day the stall was on holiday. masters lee have been running the  business for many years and are respected. there are always queues on business days, so it is hard to take picture without disturbing all those patients.

there are many stories if talking about kung man village. this post look at this stall from the angle of its setting. this place is actually at the bottom of the slope/hillside where the village was built upon. the stall is also at the starting point of the village. there are two old big trees around the stall and actually a stairway just by the side of the trees. it feels really respectable and green and almost spiritual for a business, a traditional practice to operate alongside the natural environment.
