earlier posts in the building name series are mostly about names appearing on the facade of the buildings. but this time, it is at the entrance of the mansion.
the four bigggest chinese characters written from right to left say hei wen dai ha (haven court). the smaller words also in the same chinese reading sequence say built by national investment co. in 1958.
love the boldness and the size of these chinese writings. seems to be a statement from the company that it was proudly presenting the building to the city. those were the days when people trusted developers and the quality of homes.
a note on national investment company, it is a real estate company established by the late henry fok, the legendary “patriotic” hong kong merchant in 1954.
