沒有公共水電供應,街渡只隔天接駁到市區。蒲台島民好有自力生活的力量。

嬸嬸和大哥,還有位叔叔,星期天早上靜靜地忙碌,清洗、整理、晾曬好多好多的昆布,鋪滿石面,旁邊平房屋頂。空氣滿滿鹹鮮的味道。

according to the census made in 2011, po toi population is 20. it is quite a big island and often visited by holiday visitors, but there is no public supply of electricity and water. my respect to the residents here, they are self-dependent and they must have a bigger heart and better health living on an island with lesser civilization and bigger nature.

poi toi is famous for many things: its rock, good for star gazing, birding & fishing … & its seaweed and kelp. being a skeptical city-dweller, i sometimes wonder goods sold in some rural villages and islands are truly local produces. this is hard evidence. an auntie and a younger man are cleaning and basking kelp collected locally. the air is filled with salty fragrance.
