2011.11.20 | 皇后大道中 49 – 55 queen’s road central
皇后大道中由滙豐銀行開始，經過置地廣場後，從娛樂行到域多利皇后街，是我很喜歡的一段路。
love this stretch of queen’s road central. it is more intimate and familiar, different from other parts. the beginning of the road for example where hsbc hq is at, that belongs to the giant, the corporate, the iron & steel.
地面一片繁華，商鋪金光十色。平日白天，肩摩轂擊，人影漂亮，衝忙但有序。抬頭，兩旁圍攏高低不一的大廈。大馬路受樓房遮蔽，中央很少有陽光。幸好這段路的天空，因為建築有些個子不高，還留一線天。留心細看，老牌的大廈，每棟都有自己的面貌和個性。新式玻璃幕牆大樓，可是面目模糊。
during weekdays in day time, on ground level is all the glitz and buzz, waves of office-goers and shopping crowd, the suits and heels and the beautifuls. looking up, the skyline is more interesting. older buildings are not too tall. they leave space above our heads, allowing at least some blue sky, some air and some sunlight in.
照片中，白色的是金銘樓，瓦黃的是永昌樓，棕色的有待查證，都少於十層，約四五十歲。各有自己的線條窗戶方陣色彩。
on this photo, the white building at no. 49-51 is kam ming house, the earth-colour building is wing cheong house (at no. 53). (i am yet to find out the name of the building on the very left). they are both at least 40 years old. they are not tall, less than 10-storey and they don’t look cool. but a big difference from the modern glass-walled commercial buildings, they have their own faces and characters.
