a typhoon is hitting us today. the blue sky and big sun blessed us for more than a week was swept away. can’t help taking out this photo taken two days ago as i miss the bright hot summer conditions. it was sunday afternoon. i hate crowd. but I am glad that the ferry was full when this photo was taken. bless star ferry.
if you are a follower of my blogs or a friend, you know i LOVE star ferry. allow me to elaborate a little, this time on the details of the boat. adore every little and big pieces of these vessels: the green + black + cream colour combination; the double-headed design, the wooden steering wheel and the golden shinning part in the sailing cabin, the bubbles …
apart from the clean and practical industrial design which is already very sexy, sentimental factor plays in – all these “stars” were made in hong kong back in the 50s and 60s at the hong kong & whampoa shipyard; we were all born here.
