三角碼頭早已消逝,海岸線遠離,干諾道西原來鼎盛的米行生意也大大褪色,有的搬走,甚至拆樓。海味行業尚幸繼續繁榮 – 雖然隱憂很大:魚翅與環保命題的衝突,中國的反奢華政策,地產的膨脹。

每次有海味鋪將乾貨拿出來透曬,都讓我興奮。因為這是我們獨特的街頭風光,顯示商鋪的大氣。而且猶如街頭裝置藝術,立體的視像、嗅覺享受。

this is where the “triangle pier” wing lok street pier used to locate at. it is a thriving and robust neighbourhood because of all the merchants and businesses around – tea, chinese herbal medicine, rice, dried seafood …

the shoreline is pushed far from here after all these years. rice business is fading. dried seafood business has passed its golden era but luckily is surviving well in this area – but not without threats: environmental concerns over shark fins, the anti-luxury policy of china, sky-rocketing property price.

adoring this dried seafood merchant community. and the sight of sunning and drying the stock excited me always. when weather is good enough, shops around will place their goods out to air and to bask. it is to me a street art, installation real-life practice and a party of visual and smell enjoyment.
