2013.4.7 | 北角碼頭 north point pier
with the north point estate closed down in 2002 and torn down in 2003, north point pier’s hay day came to an end. back then, ferry was the public transportation, people went to work and return home taking the vessels, swamps of people in and out, just like tide and ebb. there are still ferries shuttle passengers to hung hom, kwun tong and kowloon city in low-frequency. they are more for nostalgic, leisure and a relatively cheaper mean of daily traffic. one now can take time to appreciate the practical with aesthetic piece of construction – the columns and the mosaic.
