山貨店 sundries stall

每次看到琳琅貨掛的雜貨店,一股暖意油然浮現。有碗話碗有碟話碟。老闆也得老老實實地每天早上將貨品掛起,晚上收鋪前摘下收起。貨品當中,最得我心,當然是藤織和竹織的用品,蒸籠、矮凳、筲箕,扎實手藝滲發幽幽草香。

大家忙著說保育文化,我就實際一點,幫襯這些老店鋪,讓他們生意生意。

we have a term for local sundries – mountain craft 山貨, mainly referring to those bamboo and rattan made products. ‘mountain craft’ shop like this one still can be found in old districts. don’t you feel warm and dazzling at the same time seeing these shops?  no lie, no disguise, the shopowners display all they are selling in front of you (above you to be exact). don’t forget to take a deeper breathe when you buy at these shops, the faint fragrance of the bamboo and rattan not only transmit an ambience but dignity.
